Multiplying good - THE JEFFERSON AWARDS
Honoring Extraordinary Acts of Public Service
The Award that Underscores Impact
Over the past five decades, the list of Jefferson Award recipients is unparalleled. They include hundreds of national figures — both public and private —more than 65,000 unsung heroes, and tens of thousands of employees and young people in communities across the country. These individuals represent the good that is happening all around us, in every community across the nation. It is our mission to elevate them and exponentially increase their acts of service.
WJBF newsChannel 6 Giving Your best award
Beth Newton, S4A Director, was the June 2022 recipient of The Giving Your Best Award from WJBF NewsChannel 6! This award salutes and honors volunteerism each month.
“We are humbled and grateful to have been nominated and also chosen to receive this special award. S4A began because of a random act of kindness Alex did for someone he met while on a trip in 2012. We never know how much helping someone, no matter how small the gesture is, will impact that person as seen from how this simple act of offering his shirt led to Matt honoring Alex at his wedding reception in 2017 and then sharing this in a 7 page letter to me. This letter answered a year long prayer of trying to find some purpose in Alex’s death and helped me and my family see how we should share Alex’s story of kindness and also of God’s faithfulness which led us to form Something For Alex. We are so grateful to the love and support we have from our Thomson Community and beyond.” - Dr. Beth Newton
